This is the beginning of a cover up of another cherry blossom that was done when I was 19. The tattoo symbolizes the beginning of my life as a young woman, independence, beauty, and sensuality.

Minutes old, hence the excess redness. My mid and lower back.

tattoo by guen at magnum opus in Brighton uk. I got it to represent the fleeting beauty of life and to live life to the fullest. The three big stars were there already but I liked them as they remind me of my family who are always there.

Underneath these cherry blossoms is a tiny black heart that I got about a year ago for someone who is no longer in my life, so when I finally decided I wanted to cover it up, I knew I needed something that was ME; Something that didn’t represent or symbolize anyone else. Something that I would be happy with forever that meant something to me. So I did some extensive research and found that in traditional Japanese art, cherry blossoms are a symbol of feminism, beauty, poise and delicacy. I found lots of reference pictures and here we are! :) I love my tattoo and my artist couldn’t have done a better job! Thanks so much to KC Lange at Electric Haven in Tempe, AZ.
